    In this workshop, participants:

    Learn how small businesses build and maintain credit.

    Explore how the solvency of small businesses is measured.

    Examine the connection between personal and business credit.

    Identify the documents needed for small business credit applications.

  • Preparing for a Financial Emergency

    In this workshop, you will learn how to understand what a financial emergency is, how to prepare for it, and the importance of having an emergency savings plan. You will also learn about tools and resources to develop and implement an emergency savings strategy. Lastly, you will develop skills to protect yourself during times of financial emergency or uncertainty.

  • Making Budgets Work

    You will identify personal obstacles to budgeting and create and apply a structure to track and analyze spending. You will also list short, medium, and long-term goals and discuss the importance of debt reduction and building emergency savings. Ultimately, you will learn to apply strategies to manage day-to-day spending.

  • Buying a Car

    You will learn about the costs of car ownership, outside of a monthly car payment, to distinguish between the listed price and the actual price of a vehicle. You will also learn to determine how much you can budget toward a car payment and discuss different payment options to decide which is right for you. Finally, you will demonstrate how to evaluate a loan and apply what you've learned to “shopping around” and contract negotiations.

  • Banking Basics

    In this workshop, you will learn how you can work with financial institutions to help you manage your personal finances, grow your wealth, and safeguard your money. You will learn about the variety of account types available for your needs and receive a primer on how to open a simple account.
